Nepal SDG Forum Hands Over the Spotlight Report to Government and UN at National VNR Validation Workshop

Nepal SDG Forum organized a National Validation Workshop for Civil Society Organizations on the Voluntary National Review (VNR) on June 10, 2024, in Kathmandu. During the event, on behalf of Nepal SDG Forum, NFN Secretary General Mr. Arjun Bhattarai presented the Spotlight Report on SDGs, which offers actionable recommendations that complement the government's VNR report. NFN President Mr. Ram Prasad Subedi handed over the Spotlight Report, along with the main message of the report from the perspective of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), to the Committee on Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance of the National Assembly, the National Planning Commission of Nepal, and the United Nations.

The chief guest at the event was Honorable Ms. Kamala Devi Panta, Chairperson of the Committee on Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance. Special guest Prof. Dr. Sangeeta Singh, a member of the National Planning Commission, also attended. Conveners and co-conveners of various Sustainable Development Goals discussed the process of preparing the VNR Spotlight Report, as well as the progress and challenges in achieving the global goals by 2030 for Nepal.

Dr. Sangeeta Singh emphasized the need for innovation in sustainable practices, while Honorable Kamala Devi Panta expressed her gratitude to NFN and the SDG Forum for organizing the program and urged for comprehensive reports.
